The Friends of Catholic Charities Next Gen

The Friends of Catholic Charities Next Gen (FCC Next Gen) works to inspire, engage, build awareness and support toward the good work of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s programs in the community. This past week the group held a pau hana reception at The Townhomes at the Collection and Drybar Hawaii in Kakaako. Guests enjoyed pupus, complimentary hair styling and connected with key CCH staff and the FCC Next Gen steering committee. In addition to providing free hair styling services that day, Drybar Hawaii also donated a portion of the sale of hair products to Catholic Charities.

FCC Next Gen is led by Melissa Benjamin, Tracy Wong, Doug Smith and Roger Wall. The team has been organizing social and engagement events for this group over the past three years to build a new group of involved and informed advocates and philanthropic supporters for CCH.

“Catholic Charities continues to be one of Hawaii’s best kept secrets,” shares Doug Smith, “…many don’t know about the scope of work and the outreach that CCH has in the community.” FCC Next Gen seeks to bridge that gap and build awareness on the issues affecting our community.
