HAWAI‘I ISLAND COMMUNITY OFFICE
The Community Office promotes the mission of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i on Hawai‘i Island in partnership with the local community. The Community Office assists families and individuals in need by providing information, help with applications for assistance, and referrals to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i programs or other local resources. Working to identify and link resources to address gap needs on Hawai‘i Island, the Community Director is the on-island point of contact for collaboration with local agencies and community organizations.

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Provides limited financial assistance to families facing temporary financial hardship typically related to urgent housing needs (rent, deposit, utilities). Also provides referrals to CCH programs
and community partner network.

COMPREHENSIVE COUNSELING & SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM (KONA)
Provides a broad range of services to children and their families to prevent and treat child abuse. Services include: counseling, outreach services, parenting education classes, supervised
visitation, transportation and Voluntary Case Management. (see government referral services)

COUNSELING SERVICES (HILO)
Offers individual, couples, and family counseling. to promote healthy relationships and reduce individual and family distress. Services address issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief, abuse, trauma, family problems, relationship issues, wellness, and more.

FOSTER OR RELATIVE PLACEMENT SERVICES (KONA/HILO)
We provide home study and case management services for children statewide who are being reunified with biological parents or who are being considered for foster or relative placement. We also monitor and ensure safe and stable placement of children in foster or relative care. (see government referral services)

GENERAL IMMIGRATION COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER (HILO)
We advocate for immigrant rights and assist to reunite immigrant families by providing help to prepare and file the appropriate documents to stabilize immigration status, free English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes. Our resource center serves as the “first stop,” primarily for immigrants and migrants to improve access to needed services, resources, and benefits to support self sufficiency and social adjustment.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Provides educational group sessions on proper medication management and one-on-one medication screenings to prevent misuse of medication through scheduled events in the community.

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES
We help homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness and their families achieve housing stability by providing resources that help them become or remain permanently housed.

VOLUNTARY CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (KONA)
Provides case management services, intervention and outreach to children and families referred by DHS when risk of abuse or neglect is identified; participation is voluntary and they are not under the jurisdiction of Family Court. (see government referral services)
