Help bring hope to those in need by donating your vehicle to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i. Donated vehicles are sold at a dealers-only auction, and the net proceeds from the sale help fund our programs and services across the state.
Below is a brief overview of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s vehicle donation requirements and process. If you meet these requirements, please refer to our donation brochure for more specific details.
Criteria
- Your vehicle must be in safe, drivable condition
- Working battery
- Working brakes
- Four inflated tires
- No major mechanical trouble, rust, or dents
- Hawai‘i Title
- Current Hawai‘i Registration
- You must be able to drop off your vehicle at our auction site
Process
- Provide Catholic Charities Hawai‘i your contact information, license plate number, and the last four digits of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- Via phone: (808) 546-CARS (2277)
- Via mail or fax: download and complete this form
- Fill out an odometer disclosure statement
- All owners listed on the title must sign this form in addition to signing the title
- Do not enter mileage until you are at the drop-off site

Tax Deduction
- CCH will send an acknowledgement letter with the appropriate tax information once the vehicle has been sold.
- If the vehicle sells for over $500, you may claim the gross proceeds of the sale as your deduction.
- If the vehicle sells for under $500, you may claim the fair market value of your vehicle, not to exceed $500.
- Please keep in mind the vehicles are auctioned to dealers at a wholesale price.
