Catholic Charities Hawai‘i recently wrapped up its 2025 Disaster Response Academy workshop, bringing together national and local experts on disaster preparedness.
The two-day workshop, held at the Clarence T. C. Ching Campus in Makiki, welcomed 75 participants from Hawai‘i and the Pacific Islands region. Sessions focused on effective disaster readiness, response, and recovery, encouraging participants to actively engage in real-world scenarios and discussions.
We extend our gratitude to Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) for co-organizing the event as part of a nationwide series of Disaster Response Academies. A key outcome of the workshop was the opportunity for participants who completed all sessions to earn their Disaster Case Management (DCM) Certification. This credential equips service providers to guide individuals and families impacted by disasters, strengthening the resilience of our entire community.
