Board of Directors Vice Chair

Serving as a sociology professor/assistant professor at University of Hawai’i-West Oahu (UHWO) for nearly 35 years, Linda Nishigaya brings an extensive and unique background to CCH’s board of directors.

Following her tenure at UHWO from 1976 to 2010, she then served as an assessment coordinator at the school from 2013 to 2014.

She holds three sociology degrees: a doctorate from Ohio State University, a master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and bachelor’s degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu. Much of her research during her academic career has focused on the treatment and prevention of violent behavior in society.

Linda is also a member of the American Association of University Women, American Sociological Association and Hawai’i Sociological Association.
