CCH Annual Staff Conference

The Catholic Charities Hawai‘i Staff participated in their annual staff conference on May 3, 2019, in a beautiful setting at the Koolau Ballrooms. The keynote speaker Ramsay Taum, is recognized locally, nationally and internationally for training and mentoring in transformational leadership in sustainability, culture and place-based values integration in contemporary business models, team building and strategic partnerships.

Friends of Catholic Charities Annual Luncheon

On May 10th thirty guests attended the Friends of Catholic Charities (FCC) annual luncheon at The Pacific Club. This dedicated group of CCH supporters has been together for over 30 years and counting! Sheltering the Homeless Through the Ohana Zone Program

As part of the state’s “ohana zones” program to provide housing and services to homeless people, Catholic Charities Hawaii opened the Villages of Maili in early March. Celebrating 50 years at our Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center

This year marks the 50th anniversary of our Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center in Kalihi! The Honolulu City Council recently honored our senior center staff and kupuna members with a proclamation ceremony at Honolulu Hale. With the center’s motto being “We Play, We Learn, We Serve,” the facility offers kūpuna 60 years and older a place for recreation, education, and social interaction to keep them physically and mentally engaged.

Progress at Meheula Vista and Kahului Lani Housing Projects

Construction of our two senior affordable housing projects – Meheula Vista in Mililani Mauka and Kahului Lani on Maui – continues to move forward. The first two completed phases of Meheula Vista already includes 150 residential units for seniors, with Phase III expected to be completed by the 4th quarter of this year. Coming Full Circle in Foster Care
