Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi President and CEO Tina Andrade was recently featured as the interviewee on KHON2’s Unscripted, where she discussed the organization’s nearly 80 years of service and its continued impact across the state.
Since 1947, Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi has provided a wide range of social services to support keiki, families, kūpuna, immigrants, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, and those in need of housing assistance. Today, the organization serves more than 70,000 people throughout Hawaiʻi each year.
During the interview, Tina shared how strengthening families helps strengthen the entire community. She also highlighted the importance of helping kūpuna remain safe, independent, and connected through programs such as Transportation Friends for Kūpuna, which assists seniors with essential trips to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other destinations.
The conversation also explored Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s work to support individuals in the workforce, provide stable family settings for youth who have experienced abuse or abandonment, expand access to housing resources, and assist immigrants as they build new lives in Hawaiʻi.
