Catholic Charities Hawai‘i Executive Leadership Attends 2026 Red Mass

Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s executive leadership team joined faith and civic leaders from across the state—including Governor Josh Green—at the 2026 Red Mass, a long-standing tradition in the Islands that calls upon the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance for those serving the public good.

Held annually just before the opening of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature, the Red Mass offers a moment of prayerful reflection for lawmakers, judges, attorneys, and community leaders as they prepare for the year ahead. This year’s Mass took place at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa and was celebrated by Bishop Larry Silva.

The keynote address was delivered by Connie Mitchell, Executive Director of the Institute for Human Services, who spoke on the theme “Radical Justice in Tumultuous Times.” Her reflection explored how each generation faces unique challenges and how people of faith are called to respond by living out the Scripture from Micah 6:8—to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi remains committed to this call, working alongside partners in government, faith, and the community to advance justice, compassion, and dignity for all—especially those most in need.
