Catholic Charities Hawai‘i proudly participated in National Home Visiting Week

Catholic Charities Hawai‘i proudly participated in National Home Visiting Week, a time to celebrate the dedicated professionals and partners who strengthen families across our communities.

On April 20, 2026, we gathered to recognize home visitors and the many people who make home visiting a success: program leaders, community partners, supervisors, consultants, and the families who open their doors. Each one is a thread. Together, you stitch the weave that supports Hawaiʻi’s ʻohana.

At Catholic Charities Hawai‘i, our Early Identification Program is part of the Your ʻOhana Home Visiting Network, which contributed to positive nationwide outcomes through the federal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, also known as MIECHV.

Recent federal performance data shows just how strong Hawaiʻi’s home visiting network truly is. On 16 of 19 measures, Hawaiʻi ranks better than at least half of all MIECHV grantees nationwide. On 11 of 19 measures, Your ʻOhana places in the top quartile. That is a remarkable achievement, built through years of dedication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to quality care for families.

These results did not happen by accident. Organizations across the network have strengthened onboarding and training practices, improved assessments and screenings, and consistently used data to better serve families. Behind every number is the daily work of home visitors who support families through crisis and uncertainty, including the challenges our communities have faced together such as the pandemic, volcanic eruptions, wildfire disasters, and severe flooding.

Through it all, Your ʻOhana continues to adapt, learn, grow, and improve. That commitment is part of the network’s DNA and a legacy of excellence that spans decades.

Mahalo nui loa to every home visitor and partner who makes this work possible. The way you honor your community, your agency, and the families you serve shines brightly across Hawaiʻi. Continue doing what you do. You are making a lasting difference every single day.
