Celebrating 50 years at our Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center

This year marks the 50th anniversary of our Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center in Kalihi! The Honolulu City Council recently honored our senior center staff and kupuna members with a proclamation ceremony at Honolulu Hale.

With the center’s motto being “We Play, We Learn, We Serve,” the facility offers kūpuna 60 years and older a place for recreation, education, and social interaction to keep them physically and mentally engaged.

Congratulations to our center for 50 years of keeping our seniors active and healthy!

Also, a big Mahalo to KITV4 anchor/reporter Diane Ako for visiting our Lanakila senior center as part of her “Aging Well” kupuna segment. Along with speaking with Lanakila member Yukiko Murata, who turns 103-years-old this month, Diane got some lessons from our Okinawan dance club!
