Today she is a staff member of CCH’s Statewide Resource Families Program team that helps license adult foster parents. In her role, Elizabeth assists prospective resource caregivers through the licensing process to care for youth that have been placed in foster care.
Experiencing first-hand what youth have been through and witnessing her adoptive parents become foster parents, Elizabeth can relate to the positive impact that resource caregivers have on the youth in foster care.
“Youth in foster care experience many difficulties in their lives such as resentment, anger and confusion” Elizabeth said. “My adoptive parents (whom were also my resource care givers) made me feel loved and wanted. Having this type of stable home helped me to succeed and flourish into the person I am today.”
