Residents at Meheula Vista recently gathered for an art class led by Catholic Charities Hawai‘i volunteers Cindy and Mimi. The class featured a continuation of resident Susan Pauloo’s lesson on “one stroke painting,” a technique that allows artists to create beautiful flowers with simple, graceful brushstrokes.
Residents enjoyed exploring their creativity, learning new skills, and sharing time together in a supportive and uplifting environment. The artwork — colorful flowers painted by residents — reflects the joy that comes from trying something new and creating alongside friends.
This art class is part of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s ongoing efforts to bring enrichment activities to kūpuna, fostering community connection and wellness through creativity. Up next, residents will look forward to a festive mini pumpkin decorating activity in the coming weeks.
