Building on the momentum of the Disaster Response Academy on O‘ahu, Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s Kaua‘i office recently hosted a Parish Preparedness training for the Kaua‘i Vicariate. The training was part of the Catholic Disaster Preparedness Program (CDPP).
The Parish Preparedness Program explores the natural intersection of our Gospel call, the needs of those who suffer, and the gifts we have to share before, during, and after a disaster. The Kaua‘i training emphasized how parish communities can prepare to serve others in times of crisis with both compassion and efficiency.
By equipping parish leaders with knowledge, tools, and resources, the program strengthens our collective ability to respond when disaster strikes. This commitment to preparedness ensures that faith communities remain a source of hope, care, and stability for those in need.
