LMPSC Volunteer Appreciation Celebration

This past Wednesday, LMPSC hosted a heartfelt Volunteer Appreciation Celebration honoring the incredible individuals and partners who support our community work.

Guided by our mission to strengthen families, support independence, and uplift our community through compassionate service, the morning reflected the true spirit of aloha in action.

Over 200 people attended the celebration, enjoying a beautiful program featuring performances by Dustin Ebesu (harpist)keiki from Lanakila Elementary School, and the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club, with MC Rodney Villanueva guiding the celebration.

We extend sincere mahalo to our generous sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible, through both financial contributions and in-kind donations: Central Pacific BankFirst Hawaiian BankKline-Welsh Behavioral Health Foundation, Don Quijote, Savors, 7-Eleven, and Starbucks.

Mahalo also to our dedicated activity volunteers who helped bring the celebration to life: the AARP Hawaii Community Service Committee, MOA Hawaii, LMPSC’s Japanese Calligraphy Class, Ti Lei Makers and Bead Makers, LMPSC Special Events Committee, Occupational Therapy Association of Hawaii, and the Massage Therapy Association of Hawaii.

As we celebrate this spirit of service, LMPSC is also seeking community support to recover from recent storm damage. We are working to restore impacted facilities and programs so we can continue serving our community without interruption.

Through the broader work of Catholic Charities Hawai‘i, we supported over 7,500 kūpuna in 2025, helping them stay healthy, connected, and independent.

If you would like to help or learn more, please contact Susie Chun Oakland at suzanne.oakland@catholiccharitieshawaii.org.

Your time, talent, generosity, and aloha make a lasting difference. Mahalo for standing with us in both celebration and recovery.
