Mahalo to Hawaii Business Magazine for Highlighting Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s Mission of Compassion and Service
Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi is deeply grateful to Hawaii Business Magazine and writer Lili Hurd for shining a light on the vital work happening across our islands to support individuals and families in need. Their recent story highlights how Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi remains steadfast in our commitment to serve all people, regardless of faith, guided by our core values of dignity, compassion, social justice, and excellence.
Each year, Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi assists thousands of Hawaiʻi residents—from families facing housing challenges, to kūpuna seeking support and community, to veterans, individuals with mental health needs, caregivers, and so many others navigating life’s hardships. Last year alone:
- 11,364 families and individuals received transitional housing, rental, utilities, and other financial assistance
- 5,525 kūpuna were supported through housing assistance, services, and programs like the Lanakila Senior Center
- 221 veterans and their families received critical support and care
We are especially grateful that the article uplifted stories of hope, the strength of our kūpuna, programs that keep families housed and stable, and future efforts—such as the Hale Pilina affordable housing project on Maui—to continue responding to the evolving needs of our community.
