Transportation Services Program
About the Catholic Charities Hawai‘i Transportation Services Program
Catholic Charities Hawai‘i Transportation Services may be the perfect solution for seniors seeking reliable transportation on Oʻahu. The program provides transportation for seniors aged 60 and older who live independently, with a fleet of vans equipped with wheelchair lifts, ramps, or sedans.
Individual seniors or senior groups can schedule rides in advance, with group outings arranged for excursions. Priority is given to trips for medical appointments and visits. The service also supports grocery shopping, beauty salon appointments, visits to family members in care homes, government agency appointments to receive or renew benefits, and more.
All individual trip services are door-to-door, meaning the van will assist seniors from their home’s front door to the destination’s entrance. If a senior requires an escort to navigate a building’s interior, they may bring a friend or relative as an escort—or request a volunteer escort from Catholic Charities Hawai‘i.
The program also provides group transportation for senior centers and senior clubs for outings such as group shopping, excursions, and more.
To register for the program, seniors must be authorized by the City and County of Honolulu’s Elderly Affairs Division Helpline at (808) 768-7700. For additional information, you may also call Catholic Charities Hawai‘i’s Senior Services Helpline at (808) 527-4777.
Riders must be age 60 or older and live independently in the community. Advance registration is required to use the service.
