Catholic Charities Hawai‘i remains committed to supporting Maui’s long-term recovery and walking alongside those impacted by the devastating wildfires.

Recovery after disaster does not happen overnight. For many on Maui, healing is still unfolding, and the emotional toll continues long after the immediate crisis has passed. Through the Maui Support Center, Catholic Charities Hawai‘i provides compassionate, trauma-informed support for first responders, caregivers, community members, and others affected by the fires.

The Maui Support Center was created to help the helpers, those who gave so much during the crisis while carrying their own grief, exhaustion, and trauma. Services include individual and group support, telehealth and in-person counseling, and wellness-based approaches such as art, movement, and self-care strategies.

The program also supports individuals and families navigating the broader impacts of disaster, including the loss of homes, jobs, loved ones, routines, and stability. Rooted in dignity, compassion, social justice, and excellence, Catholic Charities Hawai‘i continues to meet people where they are and help them move forward at their own pace.

The road to recovery is long, but no one should have to walk it alone. With the support of our community, Catholic Charities Hawai‘i continues to provide hope, healing, and care for Maui.
