CATHOLIC CHARITIES HAWAI‘I NAMES BE-JAY KODAMA AS VICE PRESIDENT-PHILANTHROPY
Names Be-Jay Kodama As Vice President-Philanthropy
HONOLULU – April, 20, 2023 –
HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I (April 20, 2023) – Catholic Charities Hawai‘i (CCH) has named Be-Jay Kodama as Vice President-Philanthropy, where she will be responsible for overseeing all fund development and community engagement programs for Hawaii’s largest social services agency.
Most recently, Kodama served as Director of Advancement at Island Pacific Academy, a private college-preparatory school. In addition to providing leadership and guidance for all campus fundraising, she was responsible for developing marketing initiatives, donor stewardship, and collaborating with the Board of Trustees to support the school’s goals and priorities.
“Be-Jay comes to Catholic Charities Hawai‘i with a wide array of fundraising and deep community relations experience,” said CCH President and CEO Rob Van Tassell. “Her strong relationships within the local community will be invaluable in supporting our social programs that aid those most in need.”
Kodama previously worked as Director of Alumni Relations at Chaminade University of Honolulu, managing all aspects of the school’s alumni relations programs, services, and activities. While serving as a staff member at Chaminade, she received the Marianist Award in demonstrating the school’s values of compassion and service. She also held marketing positions with KGMB TV (now known as Hawaii News Now), University of Hawaii – Auxiliary Enterprises, and KSSK Radio.
Active in the community, Kodama serves on the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VII, the Oahu Interscholastic Athletic Association Foundation (OIAAF), and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Aloha Chapter.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Kodama now resides in Pearl City. She graduated from Maryknoll High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Master’s degree in Business Administration and Leadership from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
