On August 14, 2025, more than 200 kūpuna gathered at the Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center with AARP Hawai‘i to celebrate the 100th birthday of Social Security. Themed “We Earned It,” the event was emceed by Keali‘i Lopez and featured inspiring pledges from U.S. Senators Brian Schatz & Mazie Hirono and U.S. Representative Jill Tokuda to continue protecting Social Security for future generations.
We were also honored to have Catholic Charities Hawai‘i President & CEO Tina Andrade in attendance.
The celebration was filled with the spirit of aloha through incredible performances by LMPSC seniors:

- Taiko Drum Performance
