Intensive Clinical Services

Intensive Support for Youth and Families

Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s Intensive Clinical Services (ICS) program provides comprehensive, community-based mental health support for youth and their families. Our goal is to stabilize crisis situations, strengthen family relationships, and build the skills needed for long-term success — all while preserving the dignity of each child and family we serve.

Intensive In-Home Therapy (IIH)

At the heart of ICS is Intensive In-Home Therapy (IIH), designed for youth ages 3 to 18 who need structured therapeutic intervention within their home and community environments.

  • The youth
  • Parents and caregivers
  • The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) Mental Health Care Coordinator
  • Other members of the treatment team

Together, they develop and implement a strengths-based, individualized treatment plan that supports emotional wellness, safety, and family stability.

Available When Families Need It Most

IIH therapists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for crisis prevention and intervention. Services are delivered wherever the youth and family need support, including:

  • Family homes
  • Homeless shelters
  • Juvenile detention centers
  • Schools
  • Community locations

Our therapists are trained to de-escalate crisis situations while maintaining the confidentiality, dignity, and respect of the youth and family in every setting.

Comprehensive Family Support

Beyond crisis stabilization, the ICS program provides intensive, ongoing support tailored to each Individual therapy

  • Family therapy
  • Parenting skill development
  • Independent living skills training
  • Behavioral support and coping strategies
  • Care coordination with treatment partners

Support is delivered in the home or community whenever possible, ensuring therapy is practical, accessible, and grounded in real-life environments.

Referral Information

The Intensive Clinical Services program receives referrals exclusively through the Hawaiʻi State Department of Health’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD).

Families must be referred directly by CAMHD in order to participate in this program.

If you believe your child may benefit from intensive mental health services, please contact your CAMHD Mental Health Care Coordinator or your local CAMHD office for guidance.
