Leading with Purpose. Leading with Aloha.

People-centered leadership begins with purpose, and Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi President & CEO Tina Andrade brought that message to the stage at the Hawaiʻi Business Leadership Conference as a panelist for “Managing Up: Influencing and Supporting Your Leaders.”

Joining moderator Alisa Bender and fellow panelists Terence Young and Jen Lau, Tina shared how leadership is rooted in mission, trust, and empowering others.

One of the most impactful moments came when Tina reminded attendees:

“If we have the opportunity and we have a seat at the table, we have to use our voice. If we don’t use our voice, then we’re letting down all the people who can’t get to the table to be that voice.”

Drawing on her 23 years at Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi, Tina spoke about the importance of aligning with an organization’s mission, understanding what leaders need to succeed, listening with intention, and recognizing that every team member brings unique gifts and perspectives.

As workplaces continue to evolve, people-centered leadership isn’t just about achieving results—it’s about building trust, fostering collaboration, and ensuring every voice has the opportunity to make a difference.

Mahalo to Hawaiʻi Business Magazine for bringing together leaders committed to strengthening Hawaiʻi’s future through authentic, human-centered leadership.
